I am a passionate swing coach that is constantly trying to get better in all areas of golf instruction to give my players the most value I can! I am TPI Certified, TPI Junior Level 2 Certified, AimPoint Putting Certified, Scott Cowx Certified Instructor, Master Callaway Certified Club Fitter, SportsBox AI, Smart2Move Level 2 and a Swing Catalyst Level 2 Certified Coach. I truly feel there is no golfer that I can not help with swing mechanics, short game, putting, course management or the mental game. I have been fortunate to have learned from some of the best instructors from around the world, from Golf Digest Top 100 to my father who was a Master PGTCA Instructor.

Michael Kathrein, PGA Associate

Michael Kathrein is a PGA Associate with 28 years of golf coaching experience. He serves as Director of Golf for the Mid-Ohio Golf Group, overseeing Oak Tree Golf Club, Shelby Crossing Golf Course, Little Apple Golf Course, and The Woods at Possum Run.

Beyond the golf course, Michael has spent 30 years as a high school educator. His extensive background in coaching and teaching allows him to communicate clearly, connect with players, and help golfers develop their skills with confidence and purpose.

Michael is also the author of Game, Set, Life: A Conversation on Character, Grit, and the Power of Sports.

Lainey Kathrein is a PGA Associate and former Ashland University golfer who enjoyed a standout career at Lexington High School. Her competitive playing experience gives her a strong understanding of what golfers need to develop their skills, build confidence, and perform at their best.
